FAQ’s

What is MAT?
Muscle Activation Techniques is an innovative system that identifies and corrects neuromuscular imbalances and compensation patterns. MAT is a biomechanical tune-up that keeps the body functioning at an optimal level. It can be used in preparation for the stress of exercise or as an accelerated rehabilitation tool for both major and minor injuries. Many clients experience increased flexibility, improved strength, and decreased pain. Clients also express a feeling of being able to move fluidly and having performance enhancing and injury preventing benefits.

Why haven’t I heard of MAT before?
Until 2001, only professional sports teams such as the Utah Jazz, Denver Broncos, and the Denver Nuggets, have had access to MAT through its founder Greg Roskopf of Denver, Colorado. As of May 2005 there are less than 110 certified Muscle Activation Therapists in the world, and nearly half of them are in Colorado and Illinois. Activated Movement is proud to have the 1st and 5th MAT therapists in Illinois on our staff. It is truly a matter of time before MAT takes the fitness and rehabilitation industries by storm.
